A New Gundam Universe Begins With XARX-ZERO

A new continuity, an alien ecosystem and a Gundam built for humanity’s next crisis.

Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, pronounced “Alex Zero,” is officially headed to screens in 2027. Director Kenji Kamiyama’s series stands apart from the Universal Century, giving newcomers a clean entry point.

After Apocalypse

Humanity expands after an Autonomous Interstellar Object delivers gravity control, faster-than-light communication and cognitive materialization. Then it turns hostile, producing a self-proliferating silicon-based life-form called the Apocalypse. The experimental XARX-ZERO becomes humanity’s answer.

The Old Man Otaku take

Should we be excited or terrified? Both. Gundam works best when astonishing technology carries an equally frightening cost. XARX-ZERO looks ready to ask whether humanity’s greatest leap was actually an invitation.
